Rodney Crowell, Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale will pay tribute to Country Music Hall of Fame member Porter Wagoner during an Oct. 31 party opening the Americana Music Association’s seventh annual festival and conference in Nashville. The performance at the Tennessee State Museum is expected to include several surprise guests. The conference will take place Oct. 31-Nov. 3 at the Nashville Convention Center and includes the Americana Awards and Honors show on Nov. 1 at the Ryman Auditorium. WSMV-TV in Nashville reported Thursday (Oct. 18) that Wagoner has been admitted to a Nashville-area hospital for treatment of an undisclosed illness. The 80-year-old entertainer was seriously ill in 2006 after suffering a stomach aneurysm. He released a new album, Wagonmaster, earlier this year.
