Pumpkin Bread

It’s the season.

1 cup shortening
3 eggs
1 can pumpkin
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 325°.

Mix shortening, eggs and pumpkin. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add to pumpkin mixture and blend well. Add pecans and stir. Pour into two greased and floured loaf pans and bake in a 325° preheated oven for one hour.

Great for breakfast or snack with butter or cream cheese. Good for lunch with fruit and good for supper with anything.
