SteelDrivers Preview New Album to Music Row

The SteelDrivers previewed their self-titled debut album Tuesday (Jan. 15) to an overflow crowd at the ASCAP headquarters on Nashville’s Music Row. Made up of five veteran musicians and songwriters, the band fuses elements of bluegrass, folk and country. Among those cheering the group on as they performed four songs from the new CD were Ken Irwin, head of their label, Rounder Records, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s Jeff Hanna, songwriters Earl Bud Lee, Gary Nicholson and Lee Thomas Miller, veteran studio bassist Dave Pomeroy and producer Frank Rogers. Well-wishers packed ASCAP’s capacious reception hall for the event and spilled into the adjacent conference room.
