Longview Releasing First CD With Crowe, Reid and Stewart

Longview, the bluegrass supergroup, will release its first album with new members J.D. Crowe, Lou Reid and Ron Stewart on April 8. The Rounder Records project, Deep in the Mountains, is the band's first album in six years. The group, which includes mandolinist Don Rigsby, guitarist-vocalist James King and bassist Marshall Wilborn, was originally formed to record one album to mark Rounder's 25th anniversary. The self-titled release was named recorded event of the year in 1998 by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Crowe, a legendary banjo player, still leads his own band, the New South. Reid is guitarist-vocalist in the Seldom Scene, and Stewart is a well-known studio musician.
