Fried Corn

This is as close to summer corn as you will get.

1 package frozen whole kernel corn (1 pound)
1/4 cup cooking oil
1/2 stick butter
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon sugar

Preheat oven to 450°.

Blend corn with water in blender for 30 seconds. Heat oil and butter. Add corn, water, salt, pepper and sugar. Cook on medium heat for 15 minutes stirring often. (Corn burns easily.) Place in a casserole dish and cook uncovered for 15 minutes at 450°.
