Wynonna and famed rhythm & blues vocalist Sam Moore will perform March 19 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium during a benefit concert for the Lili Claire Foundation, a nonprofit organization that assists children who live with neurogenetic disorders. Moore will also receive the organization’s Music of the Heart award during the concert. Among the others to be honored during the concert are Nashville-based music publisher Barbara Orbison, recipient of the foundation’s Spirit of Leadership award. Moore is best known for “Soul Man” and other hits he recorded with the late Dave Prater in the duo of Sam & Dave. During the early ’80s, Moore and Conway Twitty recorded “Rainy Night in Georgia” for the Rhythm, Country and Blues compilation CD. The Nashville concert will help support the Lili Claire Family Resource Center in its partnership with Meharry Medical College in Nashville.
