Sally Gayhart Arnold, the 87-year-old wife of Country Music Hall of Fame member Eddy Arnold, died Tuesday (March 11) at a Nashville-area hospital after being admitted this past weekend for breathing difficulties. Eddy Arnold, 89, underwent hip replacement surgery last week at a Nashville hospital. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in November. With a list of 28 No. 1 hits, including “Anytime,” “Bouquet of Roses,” The Cattle Call” and “Make the World Go Away,” he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1966.
