Blackberry Cobbler

2 15.4-ounce cans blackberries in syrup
1 cup sugar
1 stick of butter (1/2 cup)
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk (1/2 cup buttermilk, 1/2 cup evaporated milk)

Preheat oven to 350°.

Empty 2 cans of blackberries in a saucepan. Add 1 cup sugar. Allow to heat until sugar blends in with berries. Meantime, melt 1 stick butter in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Pour blackberries over melted butter. Sift flour with sugar; mix. Add milk and mix well. Pour over blackberries. Cook one hour at 350°.

Note: When using fresh blackberies, add 1 1/2 cups sugar to a quart of berries. Allow sugar to melt in with berries.
