Giblet Gravy

1/3 cup Crisco or oil
1/4 cup flour
1 t salt
1/2 t pepper
3 – 4 cups broth
4 eggs boiled, peeled, sliced
3 – 4 chicken livers boiled, sliced

Heat shortening until hot but not smoking. Add flour stirring all the while until light brown – light roux colored. Add salt, pepper and add broth slowly stirring until mixture thickens. Add boiled, sliced eggs and chicken livers. Taste. Add more salt and pepper if needed.
