Hazel's Hot Dish Recipe of the Week

Rib Rub

1/3 cup cracked black pepper
1/4 cup paprika
2 T brown sugar
1 T seasoned salt
1 T chili powder
1 1/2 t garlic powder
1 1/2 t onion powder
1 T cumin
1 t cayenne pepper

Mix ingedients together. Apply half of the mixture evenly over the ribs. Refrigerate overnight. Apply the other half of the rub just before cooking them. Place on the grill for 15 minutes; turn and cook 15 minutes more. Check and turn every 15 minutes for an hour. During last 15 – 20 minutes of cooking, if you’d like; baste with your favorite barbecue sauce and cook an additional 15 to 20 minutes.

Or make your own sauce with:
1/2 pint cider vinegar
1 small bottle Worcestershire
large bottlecatsup
2 T black pepper
1 T red pepper
5 T salt
1/2 pint water
hot sauce

Combine ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until thick. Baste meat during last 15 to 20 minutes of cooking ribs. Also good on chicken.
