Austin City Limits Producer Will Receive Americana Award

Longtime Austin City Limits producer Terry Lickona will receive the Jack Emerson Lifetime Achievement Award for an executive at the organization’s seventh annual awards ceremony taking place Sept. 18 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. A native of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Lickona moved to Austin, Texas, in 1974. After working at the local public radio station, he moved to PBS and began producing ACL in 1978. The ninth annual Americana Festival and Conference takes place Sept. 17-20 at the Nashville Convention Center. Hosted by Jim Lauderdale, the awards show will also honor two other Lifetime Achievement recipients — John Hiatt (for songwriting) and Jason & the Scorchers (in the performance category).
