Randy Travis will mentor the winner of CMT.com’s third annual Music City Madness talent competition which launched Tuesday (July 15). The user-generated talent search allows unsigned singer-songwriters to showcase their talent and compete in the fan-voted contest. Warner Bros. Records has joined as the contest’s official record label, while Chevrolet returns for a second year as the official online and on-air sponsor. CMT will accept video submissions for Music City Madness through Oct. 6. The top 64 finalists will be chosen by CMT and announced on Oct. 21 when they will compete in single-elimination, tournament-style fan voting over a period of eight weeks. CMT.com visitors will narrow the field during weekly voting, and the winner will be announced on Dec. 16. The grand prize winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to Nashville to tape an episode of Unplugged at Studio 330 for CMT.com. The winner will also have a private audition with executives from Warner Bros. Records A&R department and a mentoring session with Travis. The top two finalists will be revealed in a half-hour special, Music City Madness — The Road to CMT. Learn more about Music City Madness.
