Chris Cagle Acquitted of Domestic Violence Charge

Chris Cagle has been found not guilty of domestic violence in connection with a May 28 altercation with his girlfriend, Jennifer Tant, following a night at a Nashville-area bar. Police said Cagle told them he pushed Tant to protect himself after she hit him with an umbrella at his home. Investigators said Tant had a slight cut on her upper lip and her arms were marked. However, during a Thursday morning (July 24) session in a Nashville courtroom, Tant refused to testify and invoked the Fifth Amendment, which protects witnesses from being forced to incriminate themselves. Cagle still faces trial in an assault trial in Tucson, Ariz., in connection with an incident outside a local nightclub in December. His trial in Arizona is scheduled for Sept. 23.
