Josh Turner will be the special guest when the CMA Songwriters Series returns to Joe’s Pub in New York City on Sept. 9. The series is similar to the intimate singer-songwriter performances that take place daily at small venues in Nashville. Songwriter Bob DiPiero, whose credits include George Strait’s “Blue Clear Sky,” will host the event taking place the night before the final nominees for this year’s CMA Awards are announced in New York on Good Morning America and in Nashville on CMT Insider. Also appearing at the club are Gary Burr and Sam and Annie Tate. The performances at Joe’s Pub are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., but Turner will only appear at the late show.
