Taylor Swift, Kid Rock Appearing on MTV Special Honoring Veterans

Taylor Swift and Kid Rock are among the artists to be featured on A Night for Vets: An MTV Concert for the BRAVE, part of a cross-network event between MTV and CNN Worldwide. Wednesday’s (Oct. 15) announcement of the concert special coincides with the formation of the Bill of Rights for American Veterans (BRAVE), a petition created in partnership with a group of non-partisan veterans’ organizations to enlist the support of elected officials in supporting veterans’ issues and enacting positive legislative changes. The special, hosted by MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway and premiering Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. ET on MTV, will be taped before an invitation-only audience of young veterans and their families. The taping will include live performances by 50 Cent, Ludacris and Saving Abel and previously-recorded performances from Swift, Kid Rock, Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, Nelly and others. The special will also include an interview with CNN international correspondent Michael Ware via satellite from Baghdad.  MTV News and CNN news packages, introduced by CNN’s Anderson Cooper, will air throughout the show. CNN’s Headline News anchor Robin Meade will conduct interviews with young veterans in the audience. Following the premiere, the special will also air on MTV2, mtvU and MTV Tr3s
