Kenny Chesney, Sugarland Top Artists at IEBA Awards

Kenny Chesney and Sugarland took top honors in the two artist categories at the 2008 International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA) Honors dinner held Tuesday night (Oct. 14) in Nashville. The ceremony highlights the annual IEBA conference which attracts talent buyers, promoters, agents, managers, artists, producers and music industry professionals. Chesney was named the large venue artist of the year, and Sugarland won in the small venue artist category. Festival of the year honors went to the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, and Nashville's Sommet Center was named venue of the year. Loggins & Messina received the IEBA's lifetime achievement award, and Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina teamed to perform several of their hits, including "House at Pooh Corner" and "Danny's Song." Other performers during the evening included Crystal Gayle, Joe Nichols and Diamond Rio. The awards ceremony was hosted by comedian-actor Joe Piscopo.
