Tim McGraw Says He’s Completed Work on New Album

Tim McGraw has finished work on an album of all-new music, he said Thursday (Oct. 16) in Nashville, but he’s not sure when his record label will release it. On Tuesday (Oct.14), McGraw issued a statement publicly apologizing to fans for last week’s release of his Greatest Hits 3 by Curb Records. McGraw said he was not involved in discussions about the release of the greatest hits collection and was preparing his new album for release this fall. Curb Records executive vice president and general manager Dennis Hannon issued a statement claiming he had “numerous conversations with McGraw’s representatives with respect to all aspects of the Greatest Hits 3 album.” During Thursday’s interview with syndicated radio producers to promote his new children’s book, My Little Girl, McGraw noted, “I’ve already said, really, what I needed to say about it. I think as an artist, I just wanted my fans to know that I wasn’t trying to screw them — period. They’ve all got that music. I’ve only had one album out since the last one [greatest hits album]. It’s time for new music.” My Little Girl, co-written with songwriter Tom Douglas, arrives in stores Tuesday (Oct. 21).
