Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 ounces melted baking chocolate
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup self-rising flour, sifted
1 1/2 cups oats

Preheat oven to 350°.

Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add egg, chocolate and vanilla and mix well. Mix flour and oats in a bowl. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Shape into balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes or until firm. Cool on wire rack.
