Buddy Miller Recovering From Heart Surgery

Singer-songwriter Buddy Miller is recuperating at Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins Hospital after undergoing triple-bypass heart surgery. The 56-year-old musician was hospitalized Friday (Feb. 20) after experiencing chest pains while on the road with Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin and Shawn Colvin on the 3 Girls and Their Buddy tour. Miller, who is also a successful guitarist and producer, appeared with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Feb. 8 after touring as a member of the duo’s band in 2008. Miller and his wife, singer-songwriter Julie Miller, will release a new album, Written in Chalk, for New West Records on March 3.
