Buddy Miller Earns Five Americana Nominations
Buddy Miller earned five nominations from the Americana Music Association on Wednesday (May 20). He is nominated for artist of the year and instrumentalist of the year. He and his wife Julie are also nominated for album of the year (Written in Chalk) and duo or group of the year. Finally, in the song of the year category, Julie Miller is nominated as the songwriter, while Buddy Miller and Patty Griffin are nominated as performers.
The awards will be presented Sept. 17 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Jim Lauderdale will host the ceremony and Buddy Miller will serve as musical director. The nominations were revealed at a press conference at BMI's Nashville offices. Below is a full list of nominations:
