Dolly Parton Salutes Girl Scouts With Surprise Appearance at Dollywood

Dolly Parton surprised 400 Girl Scouts at her Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., on Saturday (June 13) as the children accepted the first batch of the new “Coat of Many Colors” patches. Parton wore her own Girl Scouts uniform to the event, which celebrated the launch of a patch that can be earned by helping others and then creating a collage of their own unique qualities. In related news, fans began lining up late Sunday afternoon to receive credentials for Parton’s two autograph sessions taking place Monday (June 15) in downtown Nashville. A morning appearance at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and an afternoon visit to the Opry Originals store were scheduled to promote Parton’s current album, Backwoods Barbie, and her new children’s book, I Am a Rainbow.
