Lucinda Williams will divide her career into three sections for a series of select concerts in October as part of a larger tour marking her 30th anniversary as a recording artist. On Oct. 3-5, she will play at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York City. She’ll also perform Oct. 13-15 at Park West in Chicago. The opening night in each city will feature songs from 1979 to 1989, in which she recorded Ramblin’, Happy Woman Blues and Lucinda Williams. The second night will cover 1992 to 2001 (Sweet Old World, Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, Essence). On the third night, she will perform music from 2004 to the present (World Without Tears, West, Little Honey). The second set at each concert in the special series will feature songs from throughout her career. Williams’ tour begins Sept. 18 in Minneapolis. Additional multi-night shows will be added in early 2010.
