Steve Wariner Visits With U.S. Soldiers Returning From Iraq Service

Steve Wariner traveled to Rose Barracks Army Post in Vilseck, Germany, on Aug. 6 to perform for American troops who have recently returned from serving in Iraq. He toured the installation, met soldiers, viewed action on the mortar range and visited with soldiers in the Wounded Transition Unit. One soldier reminded him they had met in February 2008 when Wariner performed in Washington, D.C., during the soldier’s recuperation at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Wariner also performed a solo concert for members of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment and the Wolfpack Mortar Squad. He accompanied himself on a black Takamine guitar, which he later gave to the soldiers.
