Gretchen Wilson to Receive Literacy Leadership Award

Gretchen Wilson will be presented the National Coalition for Literacy’s Literacy Leadership Award during a reception Wednesday (Sept. 16) at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The event is sponsored by the NCL and the Center for the Book. The Grammy winner has taken a high-profile role in promoting literacy after earning her graduate equivalency diploma in 2008. The award honors those who have made extraordinary contributions to improving literacy and raising awareness of adult literacy in the U.S.
