Kenny Chesney’s 2009 Tour Sells $71.1 Million in Tickets

Kenny Chesney sold $71.1 million worth of tickets in 2009 according to a report released Wednesday (Dec. 30) by Pollstar, a touring industry publication. Chesney’s tour ranked sixth among all genres and first among country artists. U2 ranked first overall with $123 million in ticket sales, followed by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band with $94.5 million. Elton John and Billy Joel’s co-headlining tour came in third with $88 million, trailed by Britney Spears ($82.5 million), AC/DC ($77.9 million), Chesney, Jonas Brothers ($69.8 million), Dave Matthews Band ($56.9 million), Fleetwood Mac ($54.5 million) and Metallica ($53.4 million).
