Cabbage and Carrots Medley
1 cup sliced carrots
3 cup sliced onions
1 cup diced celery
1 small head of cabbage cut in chunks
1 tablespoon sugar
salt pork (fist-size)
water
Layer carrots, onions, celery, cabbage and salt pork. Sprinkle sugar over veggies, cover with water. Cover with a lid. Turn heat on high until boiling. Reduce heat to medium. Cook for 30 minutes. We use vinegar with this dish -- also cornbread.
