CMT’s Big New Comedy Week Begins March 8

Melissa Peterman, Blue Collar Comedy Among CMT Original Premieres

CMT will present Big New Comedy Week starting March 8. The network’s comedy programming will include Melissa Peterman’s first stand-up special and a reunion of the Blue Collar Comedy team of Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy.

The host of CMT’s hit show The Singing Bee stars in Melissa Peterman: Am I the Only One?. The special was filmed last week in Nashville and airs March 12. True Blue: Ten Years of Blue Collar Comedy, airing March 13, is an all-new, one-hour special chronicling the Blue Collar sensation, including its origin, personalities, behind-the-scenes players, successes, setbacks, conflicts and triumphs.

Another new special, Blue Collar Comedy: Ten Years of Funny, airing March 13, reunites Engvall, Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy before a live audience in Nashville. Hosted by Jaime Pressly (My Name Is Earl), the comedians recall their favorite moments from Blue Collar, introduce and joke about their most memorable clips from their tours and offer a finale where they improvise together onstage.

Additionally, Blue Collar Comedy Tour, airing March 8, was filmed as a concert movie in 2002 and features performances by Engvall, Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and Ron White at Phoenix’s Dodge Theater. Airing March 9 are Ron White: You Can’t Fix Stupid and Brian Regan: The Epitome of Hyperbole, both one-hour stand-up specials. Jim Gaffigan: Beyond the Pale airs March 10, and Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again, featuring Engvall, Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and White, will be telecast on March 11.
