George Jones’ Rare Tracks on Musicor Records Scheduled for Feb. 23 Reissue

George Jones’ rare recordings for the Musicor label will be reissued on a double-disc set by Time Life on Feb. 23. George Jones: The Great Lost Hits collects 34 songs Jones recorded between 1965 and 1972, with many of the tracks never before available on CD due to the label’s extensive legal issues in the last few decades. Selections include “A Good Year for the Roses,” “Walk Through This World With Me,” “I’ll Share My World With You,” “Love Bug” and “When the Grass Grows Over Me,” as well as his original versions of “Beneath Still Waters,” “Your Angel Steps Out of Heaven” and “Where Grass Won’t Grow.” The collection also features his version of Loretta Lynn’s “World of Forgotten People,” which she wrote specifically for him. In addition, Tammy Wynette can be heard as an uncredited harmony singer on “Never Grow Cold.” A single-disc version of the collection will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart.
