After appearing Wednesday night (April 14) in Knoxville, Tenn., for a preview screening of his new concert film, Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3-D, the Luttrell, Tenn., native headed to the West Coast for a national TV appearance in Los Angeles and this weekend’s ACM Awards in Las Vegas. The Knoxville screening raised more than $130,000 for Variety — The Children’s Charity of Eastern Tennessee. The film opens nationally on Wednesday (April 21). Chesney will perform Thursday (April 15) on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and Sunday (April 18) during the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. The awards show will be telecast on CBS.
