Cherryholmes’ IV Among New Independent Releases

Cherryholmes’ fourth album, IV, is among the new independent albums released Tuesday (June 1). Released on Skaggs Family Records, IV is the band’s first album to include all original material. Cherryholmes won the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) entertainer of the year award in 2005. Other new independent releases include Rockie Lynne’s Songs for Soldiers (Carolina Blue Sky), guitarist James Alan Shelton’s Where I’m Bound (Sheltone), alt-country band Stone River Boys’ Love on the Dial (Cow Island), a reissue of bluegrass musician Roland White’s 1976 solo album, I Wasn’t Born to Rock ’n’ Roll (Tompkins Square) and Brooklyn-based Americana band Yarn’s Come On In (United for Opportunity).
