Rhonda Vincent, whose departure from Rounder Records was announced February, will release her first album on her own Upper Management Music label Sept. 21. It is titled Taken. According to her website, she co-produced the project with her band, the Rage, which also played on the sessions. Guest vocalists include Dolly Parton, Richard Marx and Vincent’s daughters, Sally and Tensel Sandker. One selection on the album is Billy Sherrill and Glen Sutton’s “Tonight My Baby’s Coming Home,” a 1972 Top 10 hit for Barbara Mandrell. Vincent and her band will debut the album at Sweet Caroline’s in New York’s Times Square on the release date.
