Baked Pork Chops

Baked Pork Chops

6 pork chops (1-inch thick)

oil for cooking

1 tablespoon flour

1 envelope onion soup mix

2 ½ cups boiling water

1 cup sour cream

Preheat oven to 350°.

Brown chops lightly in oiled skillet. Remove chops to baking dish. Pour fat from skillet, leaving about a tablespoon. Add flour and onion soup mix. Allow to brown. Add boiling water, stirring to blend. Pour over chops. Cover with foil, bake in 350° oven for 30 minutes. Uncover, bake 35 minutes longer until tender. Stir in sour cream to make gravy. Serve over chops.
