Wynonna and Naomi Judd will be this year’s celebrity guests on the Santa Train, an annual project that brings holiday gifts to children at 14 stops in the mountains of Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee. The Nov. 20 excursion is supported by volunteers from the CSX rail line, Food City, the Kids Wish Network and the Kingsport, Tenn., Chamber of Commerce. An estimated 15 tons of toys — valued at more than $300,000 — will be distributed to thousands of residents who live along the rail route. Naomi Judd rode the Santa Train in 2005, and daughter Wynonna made the trip in 2009. “Sharing the joy of the holiday season with children who are growing up in a place so close to my heart is something that I am so honored and humbled to have the opportunity to do,” Wynonna said. “Participating in the Santa Train with my mother makes it even more special to me.” The Judds’ Last Encore tour begins Nov. 26 in Green Bay, Wis.
