LeAnn Rimes has denied an E! News report that she and actor Eddie Cibrian are engaged. The report attributed the information only to a “source.” In a tweet sent Friday afternoon (Nov. 5), Rimes wrote, “I’ve about had it with the lack of ‘reporting’ with E News. The fact that our ‘engagement’ has spread so furiously over the past 24 hours off of an E News article that is 150% untrue just shows you the lack of credible ‘sources’ they seem to find and build a story around. When CNN is calling my publicist off of a lie E News has reported, the media world seriously has a problem with their lack of responsibility to the public to actually report the truth. Even though this is positive ‘news’ its not true.”
Rimes and Cibrian met while filming Northern Lights, a made-for-TV movie. After rumors of their romantic relationship surfaced last year, Cibrian filed for divorce from his wife, model Brandi Glanville. Rimes and her husband, Dean Sheremet, filed divorce documents a short time later. They were married for seven years.
A representative for Rimes told the New York Post the singer has the flu and was forced to cancel a Thursday (Nov. 4) appearance at a party hosted by Shape magazine in Los Angeles. Readers of the magazine had previously complained about Rimes being featured on the magazine’s cover because of her personal life. However, she has also postponed concerts this weekend in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. She’s scheduled to be a presenter at Wednesday’s (Nov. 10) CMA Awards show in Nashville.
