OFFSTAGE: Keith Urban's Tour to Make 44 Stops in 30 States

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

You know when you hear those so-called huge tour announcements from the artist you're dying to see live, only to find out he or she isn't actually coming to your neck of the woods? That happens to me all the time. And maybe they're just scaling back on their routes because of the recession, low ticket sales ... whatever. But not Keith Urban. He's going to thoroughly cover the U.S. mainland in 2011. His Get Closer 2011 World Tour is one of the most ambitious schedules from a major artist I've seen in a long time. He has 44 tour stops planned in 30 states from Connecticut to California. So even if he's not playing in your backyard, he's likely going to play somewhere very, very close to you. And even though the tour doesn't officially start until June, most of the tickets go on sale in February. So if you want to see him in a few different venues, you may want to budget your holiday spending accordingly.
