OFFSTAGE: Sara Evans Writes Best When the World's Right

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Sara Evans tells CMT Radio she took some time with making her new album, because in her words, "I cannot be creative unless my world is right." If the first single, "A Little Bit Stronger," is any indication, her plan worked. In 2005, Evans released her Real Fine Place album. It debuted at No. 1 on the country charts, went platinum and was basically a perfect album from the first track to the last. Then her personal life started going through some ups and downs. She divorced her husband of 14 years in 2007, then remarried in 2008. Now she's finally ready to release another album. "A lot of people will say, 'You know when I was going through my divorce or when I was going through rehab or when I was going through whatever ... .' You always hear artists talk about, 'Those are the best songs I've written.' Like, I'm the total opposite," she admitted.
