Steve Earle Plans New Album, Debut Novel

Steve Earle will release a new album on April 26 on New West Records, followed by his debut novel, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in May. Both are titled I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive, as a nod to Hank Williams' song, the last single released by Williams during his lifetime. Earle's album includes "This City," which earned a Grammy nomination for best song written for a motion picture, television or other visual media. The song was featured in the HBO series, Treme. Allison Moorer, Earle's wife, appears on "Heaven or Hell." According to press materials, Earle's novel "imagines the troubled life of Doc Ebersole as he is haunted by the ghost of his former patient and friend, Hank Williams." After several years of solo and acoustic dates, Earle will perform with his electric band, the Dukes, on a tour to promote the album.
