OFFSTAGE: Will Carrie Underwood Be a Nashville Predators Superfan Soon?

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

So much for the big new house in Canada, eh? Carrie Underwood's hockey-playing hubby Mike Fisher could very well be traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators, according to his hometown newspaper the Ottawa Citizen. They heard rumours (yes, the French-Canadian rumors with an added "u") that Fisher's name has been floating around in trade conversations. Fisher has two years left on his contract -- the one that pays him $4.2 million a year -- and doesn't have a no-trade clause. "It's one of those things that guys can't control," he said. "Obviously, I want to be here. I love the city. I'd love to play my whole career here. We'll just see what happens." Nashville would not be the worst place to go since Underwood has settled down there in the past few years. As long as the newlyweds have each other, I'm sure they'll be just fine wherever they land.
