OFFSTAGE: Indie Label Suits Jason Aldean Just Fine

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

This is Jason Aldean's kinda party. The one where being on a smaller record label has all kinds of big advantages. So now that his My Kinda Party album is the No. 1 record in country music for the second week in a row, he speaks very highly of how Broken Bow Records has made it so easy for him to succeed. "I think it's helped me in the fact that I don't have 50 other artists that I'm competing with to get a single out or get an album out," Aldean told CMT Radio. "If I have a problem, you know, I can just pick up the phone, call the president of the label. I don't have to go through four of his cronies before I get to him. ... It's just been a good relationship." The label is so small, in fact, that the only other artists listed on their website are Kristy Lee Cook, James Wesley and Blake Wise.
