OFFSTAGE: Did God Trade Carrie Underwood’s Husband to Nashville Predators?

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Yes, the NHL had something to do with Mike Fisher’s trade from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators. But God was pretty involved in the decision, too, because Fisher, who’s Carrie Underwood’s husband, had prayed to Him. “I never thought it would come to this, but everything that happened and just knowing the possibilities of being moved and, to be honest, I was praying a few days before about it. I was just so frustrated and said, ’God, if you have me go somewhere, take care of it, look after it,’ and He sure did that. He put me in a place I was comfortable with, and I think that’s part of reason that this is the place I’m supposed to be, and that’s comforting for sure,” Fisher told the Vancouver Sun newspaper in Canada. So his prayers were answered, and I’m guessing Underwood’s were, too. And just like I think Fisher will be a solid superstar husband, I think Underwood will make a pretty great hockey wife.
