Gwyneth Paltrow Performing 'Country Strong' Song at Academy Awards

Gwyneth Paltrow will perform "Coming Home," a song from the film Country Strong, on Sunday (Feb. 27) during the 83rd annual Academy Awards show. The ABC telecast airs live at 8 p.m. ET from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. "Coming Home" netted a nomination in the original song category for Nashville-based songwriters Tom Douglas, Hillary Lindsey and Troy Verges. Also nominated are Alan Menken and Glenn Slater for "I See the Light" (from Tangled), A.R. Rahman, Dido and Rollo Armstrong for "If I Rise" (127 Hours) and Randy Newman for "We Belong Together" (Toy Story 3). Country Strong, starring Paltrow, Tim McGraw, Leighton Meester and Garrett Hedlund, will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on April 12. In related news, Paltrow will host Sony Music Nashville's annual artist showcase on March 3 during Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. The showcase, an invitation-only event for the radio industry, will feature artists from the Arista, BNA, Columbia and RCA labels. The Country Strong soundtrack was released on the RCA imprint.
