Want to get a glimpse behind the scenes of Tim McGraw‘s tour rehearsals? McGraw’s Facebook page already has 24 pictures of him and his Dancehall Doctors band hard at work practicing for the concerts before they officially hit the road on April 8 (when it all kicks off in Texas with Luke Bryan and The Band Perry). But these are not glammed-up photo-shoot kinds of photos. These are silly candid shots with the captions to go with them. So when you see fiddler Dean Brown licking the side of his Starbucks cup, it will say “Deano … DEANO! It’s EMPTY! Put the cup … DOWN!” Or when you catch a close-up of a Gumby doll strapped to a drum, the caption reads, “A RENOWN HOLLYWOOD LEGEND and verdant voyager, Gumby has long been a traveling companion of percussionist David Dunkley.” The best one I saw was McGraw looking all serious at a dry erase board. The description underneath it says, “WHEN CHOOSING SONGS FOR A NEW TOUR, Tim works hard to put together the best show possible; ‘Hey, who wrote down “Firework” by KATY PERRY? Well…we can TRY it, I guess.'” Years ago, he opened his shows with Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer,” so I think he could pull off a Katy Perry song with no problems.
