OFFSTAGE: Sara Evans Fan Tattoos Song on Her Back

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

“Even on my weakest days, I get a little bit stronger.” It’s one of the most poignant and powerful lyrics on country radio right now. But would you ink it on your shoulder forever? I would. I didn’t, but I would. Sara Evans shared a photo on her Twitter page of one of her fans who had that line (from “A Little Bit Stronger” ) tattooed on the back of her left shoulder. And like Evans said Wednesday (March 9), “That’s commitment! Love it!” There have been so many country lyrics I’ve been tempted to get tattooed on myself, but part of me is hesitant, thinking that a better lyric might come along. But this Evans line says so much, it makes me think it’s the perfect one to stay with me forever. Certainly a more uplifting lyric than “How could 18 years just up and walk away” or “Maybe you should’ve thought about that when you were cheatin’.” If you have any lyrics inked on your own skin, please share your stories.
