Alan Jackson will be performing a charity concert in the small town of Rogersville, Tenn., to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Tickets to the April 14 concert at the Rogersville Middle School sold out immediately. Proceeds from the show will benefit the society’s “Relay for Life” initiatives to assist communities in the fight against cancer. More than 4 million events are held annually in more than 5,000 communities throughout the U.S. Jackson’s concert was organized by radio and television personality Charlie Chase, a Rogersville native. Located in the northeastern area of the state, Rogersville’s population is approximately 5,000.
