OFFSTAGE: Zac Brown Band, Dierks Bentley Have ACM Rehearsals in Full Swing

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

One of the perks of coming to see a huge awards show in Las Vegas is popping in to see the way-more-laid-back rehearsals of the show. Like Saturday (April 2) when the Zac Brown Band rehearsed the "Colder Weather" and "Sweet Baby James" medley they'll be performing with James Taylor at Sunday's ACM Awards show. Even though Taylor wasn't there yet, I can already tell you it will be a standout highlight of the show. As will Dierks Bentley's rocker, "Am I the Only One." Not just because of that song, about wondering if you will have to raise hell all by yourself, but because of the "stage" where Bentley sings it. I don't want to spoil it for you, so I'll just say this: Never take your eyes off Bentley. He told me after his rehearsal that what he really wants to do is bring all the music right to the fans. And, man, does he ever. Check out CMT.com's comprehensive coverage of the ACM Awards.
