George Strait and his business partner Tom Cusick have invested in the Tapatio Springs Golf Resort, about 20 miles from San Antonio, Texas, to transform it into a showcase resort. Strait and Cusick took over the foreclosed property near Boerne, Texas, on April 1. Founded in 1981, the resort offers 27 holes of golf, a hotel, convention and meeting facilities, tennis, swimming and a fitness club. "I have lived near Boerne, and over the years, Tom and I watched what was happening at Tapatio Springs, and we always believed it could be a real jewel. When the opportunity came up, we decided to go for it and make this dream come true," Strait said, adding, "We have begun our master plan and want the end result to be extraordinary." Referring to one of his signature hits, he also noted, "This may not be 'ocean front property,' but it's the next best thing."
