Shania Twain does something that scares her every day. What sage advice — for everyone, really. Twain talked about facing her fears with Meredith Vieira on yesterday’s (May 4) Today show , as well as her new memoir, From This Moment On. Twain says the book was a positive way of opening up after realizing she’d been so private and closed-off from the world. And since writing is something that comes naturally to her, the book was a therapeutic way of dealing with what she calls the “death of love” when her first husband left her for her best friend. Former best friend, I should add. But by far, the most important question Vieria asked was, “Will we hear you sing again?” And this is what Twain said: “You will hear me sing again. Absolutely, I will sing again. I love to sing. I have to get a grip on that because throughout my whole life all of these anxieties, fears and uncertainties have affected the muscles around my larynx. But to make a long story short it’s interrupted my vocal power and expression.” Hopefully, her voice will be able to overcome the past, just like she has.
