With all the songs Kenny Chesney sings about being young, and back where he comes from, I feel like I already know nearly everything about his raising. But what I didn't know is how he credits his mom for his love of life and his ability to handle whatever rough patches come his way. "I think one of the most important lessons that I've learned from my mom is no matter what life throws at you, take a step back and a deep breath and just still take life as it comes. She's been through a lot in her life. And she's handled it. And she's come through it, I believe, with a lot of grace. She loves life," he said in a recent radio interview. "And I thank God that I got my love of life from her." And I thank God she was there to raise her son just the way she did, so we can all love life a little bit more every time he comes to town. And those concert tickets, incidentally, are my own Mother's Day gift.
