OFFSTAGE: Miranda Lambert's Wedding Guests Check Twitter at the Door

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

It must have killed them. The bride, the groom and so many of the wedding guests at country's royal wedding Saturday (May 14) stopped tweeting for the night. Blake Shelton didn't tweet since Thursday. Miranda Lambert not since Wednesday. And guests Kellie Pickler, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Josh Kelley and Laura Bell Bundy must've put their Twitter apps away, too. They only guests who came close to letting on that they were there were Chris Young, who wrote yesterday afternoon, "Bout to go watch a few friends get hitched," and then Dierks Bentley tweeted, "Headed to a wedding." And most importantly, the wedding singer Neal McCoy wrote yesterday, "Today is the BIG day for my friends @blakeshelton & @miranda_lambert. Can't wait for the reception!" So maybe the couple asked guests to check their phones at the door, knowing what prolific tweeters they all are. Or maybe they all were just keeping it classy and paying attention to the nuptials instead of their fans for a change. It's a little bit of a bummer for people like me who were not there because it would've been nice to hear little details. But I respect their need for privacy during the important parts of the day and night. But now that it's over, will somebody please start tweeting again?
