OFFSTAGE: Jason Aldean Wanted to Reunite Alabama

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Jason Aldean has admitted (jokingly, it seems) to The Tennessean that he's a little upset over Brad Paisley's latest No. 1 hit, "Old Alabama." But I don't think it's all that serious. The legendary country band Alabama is Aldean's favorite group but Paisley's the one who got them to sing with him on the new song. "I'm actually kind of mad at Paisley," Aldean told the newspaper. "I wanted to be the guy that got Alabama out of retirement and it was him. So I'm a little upset with him right now. But I'm glad somebody did it. Those guys need to be back at it. I miss hearing them sing together and it was really cool at the ACMs to see them back together." I think Aldean should invite Alabama to sing on his next record since I'm sure there's no limit to how many songs they would contribute to.
